Outlook - Microsoft's messaging and collaboration client; with Outlook, you can organize and manage information from a single location. Eudora - An email program made by Qualcom. Eudora Light is free for academic use, while Eudora Pro (which has more advanced features) must be purchased. There is a version for the PC as well as the Mac. Some people prefer it over Outlook. Mailloop - Mailloop is a handy tool for automating a lot of your marketing tasks. It doesn't come cheap though. The price is $379 or 4 payments of $94.75. Postmaster - Postmaster Direct is a mailing list program that you have to pay a monthly fee for depending on the number of users that are subscribed. The price starts at $199. Adobe Golive - A cross between a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor and a web site management tool. What is probably its best feature is its ability to inter link between other Adobe software titles such as Photoshop, Illustrator and LiveMotion. Macromedia Dreamweaver - Dreamweaver is a web Site authoring tool. It has everything you need to develop a professional Web site. Now you can build Macromedia Flash graphics directly in Dreamweaver. Whether you use Dreamweaver's visual layout tools or its text-editing environment, the intuitive Macromedia User Interface makes it easy. Microsoft Frontpage - Another popular WYSIWYG editor from Microsoft. The only (small) problem is your host needs to have FrontPage extensions installed. Most hosting companies will do this but it's a good idea to ask them first. WS_FTP - This is our personal favorite FTP program. There is a free Light version and a feature-packed pro version. The pro version has a 30-day trial and costs $64.95 Cute FTP - It's very similar to WS_FTP. There is a 30-day free trial available and costs $39.99 Coffee Cup Direct FTP - This is a cool program that has the same features as the two above plus the ability to zip and unzip your files from right inside the program. An HTML editor is included and costs less than either Cute FTP and WS_FTP. There is a Demo version available and then costs $30.00 Zeus - A spider/robot which helps you build link directories for the purpose of getting higher position in the search engine. It's very poweful software if you use it correctly. The cost is: $149 Web Position Gold - Very good software that you can use to optimise, submit and track your sites in the search engines. It has been around for years and has more features than ever. The price starts at $149 Copernic - This is a great program for doing research. Instead of just using one search engine to find the information you need, copernic allows you to search multiple web sties at a time. There is a free version and a pro version that will cost you $79.95 Alexa - Another great tool for doing research. Alexa is a free program which installs inside of your browser. It gives you the ability to see how much traffic web sites are getting. It also gives you the contact information for other sites as well as other people's reviews. Adobe Acrobat - This program is used for converting documents into PDF (portable document format) files that retain the original "look and feel" with special formatting, graphics, and color intact. Most ebooks today are created with Acrobat. eBook Paper - This is ebook creation software created by Wes Blaylock. It has some really cool features such as allowing other people to "brand" your ebooks. Good for creating free ebooks that can cause viral traffic. Banner Rotation - This is a free CGI script that lets you rotate a unlimited amount of banners on your site using javascript to display banners instead of SSI. Useful for those who don't have SSI capabilities. Little Salesmen- At $199, the "Little Salesmen" affiliate system is one of the best programs you can buy... and it comes with the Clickgate membership software and Mailing List Pro email manager. Chat-R-Box - A free and easy to use CGI chat script. It requires absolutely no special software on the client side and doesn't require any plug-ins. Fast login, select nickname, text color and go. It also features an auto-updating mechanism. No need to hit reload to see messages. Click Manager - This script can be used to count the number of times a link is clicked, be it a link to an outside site, a download, or anything else. By the way... it's free! Viewz Online Journal - Viewz Journal is a multi-user online journal system that allows you to publish articles or keep your daily stuff on the net. Extremely easy to install, very user friendly, and 100% free. Global Count - A cool free script that is used for tracking hits on your web site. A single line of HTML is all that is inserted into the pages you want counters on. Does not require SSI. Trouble Ticket Express - Free customer service software. Simple yet powerful help desk for your web site. Features trouble ticket tracking, email alerts, unlimited operators and highly customizable html and email templates. phpBB - An awesome and free message board system. Packed full of features and a breeze to install. Not actually a CGI script... it's PHP based. Agoracart - A full featured free shopping cart system. Features: SSL support, image uploading, multiple sales taxes, online order logs, customer and admin order confirmations and much much more! FormMail - Downloaded over 2 million times since 1997, this free script sends the results of any HTML form via e-mail to the specified users. Works for multiple forms & users. Ascad Link Manager - A powerful free for all link database that allows users to add links to the database. Once added, you can set the links to expire in a months time. Other features include word filters, required fields, template based headers and footers and more. csSearch - It is an excellent search script for web sites of all sizes. It gives visitors of your site the ability to search your content. Master Recommend - Allows your visitors to recommend your website to their friends or associates. It is coded to minimize intentional and unintentional misuse, including spamming. Free. Master Syndicator - Use this $99 software to create your own syndicated column to promote your site. Webmasters copy your little code, put it on their site, and your content appears on their site Aardvark Topsites - A free script that allows you to run a topsite. People add their site to the script and their link is displayed on your site. The more hits they send you, the higher they apprear on the list!
